Training the future Obstetrics & Gynecology leaders, clinicians & researchers

The Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency at Thomas Jefferson University is a fully accredited, four-year program designed to provide the highest level of didactic, clinical and research training in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN). Our graduates are prepared for the breadth of general OBGYN practice and the depth of subspecialty fellowship training.

Virtual Visits

Thomas Jefferson University has suspended all on-campus visit opportunities until further notice. Our doors may be temporarily closed, but our lines of communication are always open. We offer comprehensive virtual visit opportunities and live chat with admission officials.

Clinical Experience

We quickly incorporate residents into patient care to develop clinical and surgical skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Residents practice in a combination of urban and community hospitals, allowing for exposure to varied patient populations of high acuity and high volume. All major subspecialties are represented in our OBGYN department with unique clinical opportunities in high-risk obstetrics, family planning and surgical robotics.

Research Experience

There is strong emphasis on research and academic activities for our residents. All residents are required to participate in scholarly activity and are strongly encouraged to publish their research and present at regional or national meetings. To support resident research, we offer dedicated mentorship, a standardized research curriculum and monthly research meetings.

Culture & Resident Life

We create a supportive culture that values work-life balance, open communication and constructive feedback. In the process of professional development, we recognize the importance of building a sense of community, instilling strong values and enjoying your time both in our department and the dynamic city of Philadelphia.
