Application Process
Our Thoracic Surgery Fellowship Program accepts applications through ERAS and participates in the NRMP Match.

Who Should Apply
We will accept applications from resident physicians who have/will have successfully completed a five-year ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency Program and be eligible for the qualifying and certifying examinations of the American Board of Surgery by the time they are to enter the program.
How to Apply
All applications for our Thoracic Surgery Fellowship Program must be submitted through ERAS.
Programs participating in ERAS may only accept application materials sent electronically through ERAS. We will not accept any supporting documentation outside of ERAS.
In addition, applicants must register with the NRMP Match.
Application Requirements
We require receipt of the following information:
- Completed ERAS application
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement
- Three letters of recommendation, including a letter from the General Surgery Residency Program Director
- USMLE Board Scores (MD's): Steps 1 and 2; Step 3 (if available)
- COMLEX Scores (DO's): Levels 1, 2, and 3
- American Board of Surgery In-training (ABSITE) exam scores
- Medical school diploma
- Medical school transcript
- Dean's letter verification of pending or past graduation
- ECFMG certificate, if applicable
Interview/Match Process
- November: Fellowship applicants may begin submitting applications to the program through ERAS
- December: Review of applications and interview invitations will be emailed
- January - March: Virtual interviews will be held
- April: Rank lists are due
- May: Match Day
