Updating Your U.S. Address: Important Notice
International students and scholars must promptly update their U.S. address with the government within 10 days of any change to avoid immigration complications. While several methods are available for address updates, it's essential to note that solely updating your address with the U.S. Post Office is insufficient for immigration compliance.
Please select your visa type and situation for detailed instructions on address updates to ensure you maintain your immigration status at Thomas Jefferson University.
Updates to contact information must be reported within 10 days to BannerWeb and include changes to your address, telephone number, and email address.
If you are an F-1 student on post-completion Optional Practical Training (including the 24-month STEM Extension of OPT), you must update your U.S. address in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Portal within 10 days.
If you are a J-1 scholar sponsored by Thomas Jefferson University, please update your address by submitting a Contact Information Update Request in the International Service Portal within 10 days.
In addition, if Thomas Jefferson University employs you, you should update your Jefferson employee records through MyJeffHub to ensure that your most recent address is on file with the University.
Inform OIS about the address change to keep the records up to date through email at employee-visa@jefferson.edu.
