The Jefferson Center for Injury Research and Prevention (JCIRP) is a partnership of the Department of Surgery and the Jefferson College of Nursing (JCN).
In 2019 JCN and JCIRP united to bring its collaborative model to fruition by establishing a leadership team with expertise in key areas (research, injury prevention, entrepreneurship, and marketing).
Together, they partnered to bring the College’s first Veterans Day panel, Service Dogs Saving Veterans’ Lives: The Battle Against PTSD/TBI. The panel featured JCN’s community partner, Leashes of Valor, and two of its founders - Jason Haag, CEO, and Danique Masingill, President. JCN presented a new award, the JCN Hero Award, to Jason and Danique for their extraordinary contributions to improve lives and positively impact their communities.
JCN continues to provide faculty subject matter expertise, scholarly work, and community initiatives to support JCIRP’s goal of saving lives and reducing disability.
