Residential Life-East Falls Campus

Lockouts & Keys

Keys

Each resident listed on the Housing Agreement will receive one key for their assigned room or apartment. Residents must promptly report lost keys to a member of Residential Life’s staff. The University will take necessary steps to issue a replacement key while mitigating potential security risks, which may include changing the core.

Third-party duplication of keys is prohibited.

Lockouts

Residents who are locked out should contact Residential Life during business hours or the RA on duty in the evenings and on the weekends. Temporary keys are available to assist residents who are locked out of their rooms.

Lost Keys

In the event a resident loses their key, appropriate measures will be taken to supply a replacement key and minimize any potential campus security risks.

Residents who do not return a temporary key they receive when they are locked out within 48 hours will incur a core change fee. Also, residents who do not return their assigned key upon checkout or return a different key from the one originally issued will incur a core change fee.

Core change fees are applied to each student’s account at the end of the month or upon checkout, whichever comes first. The fee amount varies depending on the residence hall:

  • Scholler, Mott, Ronson, Fortess, and Partridge: $95
  • Townhouses and Independence Plaza: $250
